Visit any Job Center and click on a job to start it. You can change to another job or go back to unemployed at any time. Most jobs can be worked together and go faster with others! While this section will give you a solid start, any future new jobs and activities will not be included to encourage you to figure out on your own or in RP. However, you can keep an eye on the #changelog channel in our Discord for updates!
Fisherman, Refiner, Lumberjack, Miner, Butcher and Tailor- When accepting one of these, new map icons will appear on your map. Your first step is to head to the locker room to clock in. Next, grab a company vehicle from the yellow circle in the area. You can ride with a friend or each of you can get one. Each job works slightly differently, but consists of collection of goods, processing them into the final product, and delivering that product to get paid. You then return your vehicle to the red circle in the locker room area and clock out. The map icons will assist you in where you need to go. The process breakdown for the jobs are as follows:
Fisherman – Collect Fish- Deliver Fish
Refiner – Collect Crude Oil, Refine Crude Oil into Petroleum, Mix Petroleum into Gas, Deliver Gas.
LumberJack – Collect Logs, Cut Logs to Lumber, Deliver Lumber
Miner – Collect Boulders, Wash Boulders, Smelt Boulders, Sell Bronze, Iron, Gold Bars and Diamonds.
Butcher – Collect Live Chickens, Slaughter into Poultry, Package Poultry into Packaged Chicken and Deliver the Packaged Chicken.
Tailor – Collect Wool, Turn Wool into Fabric, Turn Fabric into Clothing and Deliver Clothing. (Note: Fabric and Clothing are made in the same building as the locker room)
Garbage Collection – Clock in at the marked location. Pull out a garbage truck from the yellow circle and follow the route marked on your GPS to the dumpster. Collect the bags from the dumpster and put them into the back of the truck. You’ll get paid after the last bag. Return your truck in the red circle in the locker room area and clock out to end missions. Clock in again to start a new round if you stop getting them.
Noober Eats – There is no place to clock in for this, you start as soon as you sign up after accepting the job from the job center. You will need your own vehicle for this. Follow the route on your GPS when you get a delivery notice. Depending on if the person is home or not, you’ll hand the package to them through the door or leave it at their doorstep. You’ll get paid upon each successful delivery. Switch to unemployed (or another job) at the job center when done to end missions. Sign up again to start a new round or if you stop getting them.
Taxi Driver – After selecting the job from the job center, go to the taxi building marked on the map. There is no clock in, once you sign up for the job, just pull out your taxi from inside the building and start. This job is heavily based on roleplay and less about making money, but you can do NPC missions while you wait for Player Character (PC) fares. To turn on/off the missions, bring up the menu with M and select start/stop missions. Drive around and you will get notified of a fare on your GPS. Go to them and they will get in your taxi. Drive them to the destination which will then appear as another GPS route. Once there, they will get out and pay you. For PC fares, you can bring up your meter and additional options with Page Up. Either of you can mark the map for a GPS route. After you’ve taken them to their destination, you can charge them for the fare with the Bill option from the menu. They can then pay you by pulling up the invoice with F7.
Tip: You can /advert to tell the city you are open for business.
Mechanic – After selecting the job from the job center, go to any gray gear icon and Open Shop at the computer terminal. A blue gear icon will now appear on the map letting players know there is a mechanic on duty in that location. Side Note – Only the person that first opens the shop can own it. After that person closes it, that location is then available for other mechanics to open. This job is all roleplay based, you will rely on Player Character (PC) vehicle repairs and requests for tows for income. In order to do repairs, you’ll need to craft master repair kits that fully repair engine and body damage. In the garage area, you’ll see the crafting circle where you can craft them with purchased repair kits and repair tools from YouTool. You can also craft your own repair kits by gathering the needed materials from one of the three scrapyards in Sandy, Paleto or South Los Santos. (Collect scrap from the random red arrows in the yards). Once you have your kits, to repair a player’s vehicle, use the Repair Vehicle option from your menu (M) or drag a master repair kit to Use from your inventory. Once done, you may need to get in and out of the vehicle if the other player does not see the repair. You also have the option to clean the vehicle with Clean if you choose. Bill your customer with the Bill option and they can see and pay it with F7. Please be sure to close the shop from the computer terminal when you are finished as a mechanic or wish to work out of another location.
Mechanic – Towing – If you get a tow request, you can respond to the alert and spawn a truck from the computer terminal you used to open the shop. Follow the GPS to the vehicle needing a tow. Use the Flatbed option from the menu to load and unload the vehicle on the truck. A vehicle must be tagged for tow by the owner or police or you will not be able to load it. You can return the truck from the same place it spawned.
Tip: You can /advert to tell the city you are open for business.
Hunting – This is an activity you don’t need to sign up for. Go to the hunting grounds marked on the map (South of Paleto on the NW corner of the island). Pay the fee and you’ll get a rifle, knife and vehicle. Drive your vehicle near the +’s marked on the map. These are your targets, there are a variety of them. From a cougar (they can attack you and kill you) to a small rat. Shoot with the rifle. If you miss, they will run. Upon a kill, switch to your knife and collect leather and meat from the dead animal. The hunting grounds are huge, but if you venture too far away chasing a target, you’ll lose your vehicle, rifle and knife and will have to pay the fee at the marker to start again. Once you’ve killed all the targets (or wish to quit), go back to the marker and end hunting. You can start again right away by paying the fee or go sell your leather and meat to the place marked (look for the other wolf head marker on the SE side of the city).
Side note: Hunting can be dangerous, but that’s what makes it fun! Cougars are in the area that might not be your target. Be aware if you hear the roar, they are after you and to get ready to shoot! You can also sometimes aggravate locals that might be in the area and they will shoot at you, so be ready to defend yourself or run away.
